Festival of Lights

Filly was enthralled.  She had been honored to be sent by her school on a special expedition to the Northern parts.  She took her best blanket and left with the Appaloosa, the English Mare and the American Buffalo.  The animals were led to a fairyland in the North where it was veeeeerrrrrry, veeeerrrrrrrry cold, but veeeeeerrrrry, veeeeerrrrry worth the journey. read more »

Christmas Traditions

Filly knew that Christmas was coming and she would be far away from her own Sunset Meadow and the traditions of the horses there.  But she was eager to share what she had always done with her new found friends and to learn of their traditions in return. read more »

Show Horse

Filly had acclimated quite well to her new world.  She became a show horse that was paraded at every available opportunity and forced to perform simple circus tricks in addition to her regular duties.  Filly found herself quite exhausted, yet she did what she was told.

Cold Hands, Warm Heart

New Shoes

Filly found herself in the market one day when a very strange monkey decided to make conversation with her.  She told him over and over again that she did not know Chinese and that he should go away, but he kept up with her as she bargained for things she needed and continued to pester her.  The rat behind the counter watched carefully all that was happening and relayed the information to all the animals close by.  Something was amiss…. read more »

All The Way To The Bank

When Filly arrived in the Dragon’s Lair, she had only the money that she had brought with her. Monkey had promised payment to her for coming over to help them, but she had no idea how the system worked. Was she surprised by the process. Scars

Filly began to notice something everywhere she went. Scars! Everything in the Dragon’s Lair was sooo old…it was hard not to be confronted with the lines of age on everything. Evidence of the age of the Dragon’s Lair was everywhere, from the population to the buildings to the very foliage that was all around. The very thought of this awed filly for she came from a very young place and everything about where she came from was flooded with the idea of youth. read more »

Counting in Chinese

Once upon a time, when filly was very young back in Sunset Meadow, her parents had taken her to see the great Austrian Lipizzaners Dancing Horses. They were so majestic and beautiful and exuberantly expressed life through dancing. read more »
